So many artists, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), collect even more new music we would call “indie” and talk about what metal comes out. We post music news, song premieres and more all day long. We are updating a weekly playlist some of our favorite tracks right now. Here’s a daily recap with a bunch of interesting, recently released songs in one place.

NAS – “NOBODY” (ft. MS LAURYN HILL)

Nas’s new album King’s disease II is out now, and one of his highlights is “Nobody”, which reunites him with his “If I Ruled the World” collaborator Ms. Lauryn Hill, who delivers a beautiful rapped verse.

SPIRIT ADRIFT – “WAKE UP”

ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS, CAMI – “LA CHICA DE HOY (GIRL OF THIS YEAR)”

Elvis Costello Spanish model takes up the original backing tracks of Attractions de This year’s model, but adds new voices featuring current Spanish rock and pop artists. He has just shared this new version of the quasi title of the album sung by Cami. “It’s so fantastic to have a singer like Cami singing ‘This Year’s Girl’,” Elvis says. “She has one of those voices where the microphone loves her voice. It’s totally a different story with a young lady singing it like that. Cami tells her story, but she’s so cool. ‘she sings it.

FOREIGNERS – “IF SOMETHING IS GOING TO KILL ME (IT COULD ALSO BE LOVE)”

The Stranglers to release a new album Dark matter on September 10th and this new song was inspired by the death of their keyboardist Dave Greenfield. “If Something’s Gonna Kill Me” was actually one of the few songs written for this album after we lost our dear friend and colleague Dave, ”says JJ Burnel of The Stranglers,“ So I started writing to this. topic. He was one of the innocents in life, and I thought it would be good to make that point in the lyrics – “innocence has left this house”. A song can be interpreted in so many different ways.

VACCINES – “ONLY STAR”

British band The Vaccines are back with their fifth album, Back to the city of love, on September 10th and they just shared the new single “Alone Star”.

COMMON SAGE – “ONLY HUMAN

We just named Common Sage’s “Think About The Desert” one of the best punk / emo songs of July, and today we’re bringing another song from the Brooklyn emo group’s upcoming album. He lives, he breathes, which arrives this fall via No Sleep. Like the previous single, this is a very nice offering of strong and dark post-hardcore.

SHARED TIME – IN THE GROUND

The heart punks of Philly Timeshares have released a new three-song EP, their first release in nearly three years, and he still finds them so anthemic.

RICO NASTY – “BUSS”

Rico Nasty is getting ready to release a mixtape titled Rx this year, and she debuted with this new song, a great mix of her punk-rap side and her future-pop side.

DEAF CLUB – “FOR A GOOD TIME, CALL SOMEONE ELSE”

Deaf Club (members of The Locust, ACxDC, and more) will release a new album, Productive disruption, Jan. 6 via Three One G, and the new single “For A Good Time, Call Someone Else” is an absolutely chaotic, jarring grind offering that lasts less than two minutes.

3DENTS – “PARALYSIS” (ft. HO99O9)

’90s-style industrial rock revivalists 3TEETH have teamed up with industrial rap duo Ho99o9 for this new song, which oscillates between dark and gloomy goth and abrasiveness in the face.

NERDLINGER – “DEAR THERAPIST”

The Sydney Nerdlingers are reminiscent of the fast and catchy sounds of ’90s skatepunk, as you can hear on their hilarious new song “Dear Therapist”.

BURIAL IN THE DARK SKY (DEATH IN NAPALM) – VINCIT WHO VINCIT

Shane Embury of Napalm Death has released a new album for Bandcamp Friday with his electronic solo project Dark Sky Burial.

ROW OF OAKS – “JIMI & STAN”

Strand of Oaks new album In Paradise is due out on October 1 and the new single is a heartfelt tribute to her late cat. “My best friend / cat Stan has sadly passed away,” he says. “And the only way I could describe my love for him was to imagine Stan and Jimi Hendrix hanging out in Heaven together smiling and going to shows and having the best time.”

SLOW CRUSH – “

Earlier this year Belgian shoegazers Slow Crush re-released their 2018 LP Dawn and promised new music would be on the way. Now they have announced a new album, Silence, due October 22 via Quiet Panic. The title track is out now, and it’s six and a half minutes of heavy shoegaze with a strong post-rock vibe too.

ELCAMINO – “FASHIONABLY TARD” (ft. KEISHA PLUM)

Griselda’s partner Elcamino is releasing a new album, Let there be light, and the first single is the soul sample infused boom bap of “Fashionably Late”, which stars Keisha Plum.

RICK HYDE – “ALONE” (ft. BENNY THE BUTCHER & G HERBO)

Rick Hyde shared another song from his upcoming Plates 2, which arrives August 20 via Black Soprano Family / eOne. It features fellow BSF member Benny the Butcher as well as G Herbo, and all three deliver grainy verses about the song’s laid-back production.

DON BROCO – “A TRUE PRINCE”

British band Don Broco releases new album Amazing things on September 17th via SharpTone Records, and they’re channeling some serious Deftones vibes onto this new single.

TO OTHERS – “DOWNTOWN”

Portland goth rockers Unto Others to release new album Strength on September 24 via Roadrunner, and he will present this new single with very 80s tones.

CHRISTIAN LEE HUTSON – THE SUICIDES VOLUME 3 VERSION (EP FLUX)

Christian Lee Hutson has released the third and final edition of his series of EP covers. On this one, he covers “You’re Still The One” by Shania Twain with Julia Jacklin, “There She Goes” by The La with Fenne Lily, and “I’m So Tired” by Fugazi with Al Menne by Great Grandpa .

ED ASKEW – “SLEEPING WITH ANGELS”

Legendary singer / songwriter Ed Askew to be released Sleep with angels on November 1, and the first single is “The Oracle”.

THURSTON MOORE – AN ELECTRIC NOISE GUITAR A TRIBUTE TO PITA

Thurston Moore just released A tribute to the Pita noise electric guitar for today’s Bandcamp Friday in tribute to composer Peter Rehberg who died in July. It was recorded at the Daydream Library in Thurston in July.

MIRROR TREE (OUTSIDE SWIMMING POOL) – “MIRROR TREE”

Michael Gold was a member of Poolside but now makes music under the name Mirror Tree, working with his bandmate Filip Nikolic as a writing partner and producer. Mirror Tree is also the name of the first single from the project.

THE ENTIRE DEATH – “ELEPHANT”

Do you remember the whole death? Well they’re back with their first new music in a while and they still sound great on this single.

ANIKA PYLE – “I FELT YOUR SHAPE” (MICROPHONE COVER)

Anika Pyle shared what she calls a “mediocre chamber cover of my favorite song from The Microphones,” which she plays everything on, for Bandcamp Friday.

BOYRACER – ASSUAGED LP

Released for Bandcamp Friday, British indie band veteran Boyracer’s new album is 36 minutes of chaotic pop goodness.

CHVRCHES – “GOOD GIRLS” (JOHN CARPENTER REMIX) / JOHN CARPENTER – “TURNING THE BONES” (CHVRCHES REMIX)

Chvrches and filmmaker / songwriter John Carpenter have remixed for a new single which is now digitally available and will be released as a 7 “version on December 10 via Sacred Bones. John Carpenter has remixed Chvrches” Good Girls, “while the group takes the “Spinning Bones” of the horror master.

NOLAN POTTER – “BUBBLE HEAD”

Nolan Potter (Knife Ritual, Lake of Fire) will release his second album for Castle Face, The music is dead, September 24. Made entirely by himself, this is a truly impressive psych-pop magnum opus. Case in point: “Stubborn Bubble” is an eight-minute wig that moves forward with piledriver intensity before leaving Earth’s atmosphere for a gorgeous, ethereal midsection, then back into the insane riff.

GUNS N ‘ROSES – “ABSUD”

Guns N ‘Roses has released, as they say, a “New. Fn. Song”. It’s called “ABSUЯD” and is their first new music since Chinese Democracy in 2008. The song is a reworked track from the Chinese Democracy sessions, originally called “Silkworm”.

JIMMY CLIFF – “HUMAN TOUCH”

Ska, rocksteady and reggae pioneer Jimmy Cliff is gearing up for his first new album in nine years, Bridges, and you can read more about the debut single “Human Touch” here.

PRISON SOCKS – “PEACE OF MIND”

Charlotte, North Carolina emo group Jail Socks, have announced their debut album, To come down (due 9/3 via Counter Intuitive Records), and the first single “Peace of Mind” is a very promising taste. Read more about it here.

THE LORD (GREG ANDERSON) – “NEEDLE CAST” (ft. BIG | BRAVE’S ROBIN WATTIE)

Greg Anderson of Sunn O))), Engine Kid, Goatsnake and Southern Lord Recordings has a new “exploratory compositions and collaborations” project called The Lord, and the first song is “Needle Cast”, which features Robin’s lead vocals. Wattie from BIG | BRAVE. Read more about it here.

THE DISPUTE – “STRANGELIGHT” (FUGAZI COVER)

Ripcord Records will release a 43-song Fugazi tribute compilation in October, and you can read more about La Dispute’s contribution here.

AMORE KEY – “DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN” (BLANK COVER)

Speaking of Wave bands covering classic 2001 songs, Touche Amore released a post-hardcore rendition of “Hard To Explain” by The Strokes. Read more about it here.

THE WEEKND – “TAKE MY BREATH”

AIMEE MANN – “SUICIDE IS MURDER”

Aimee Mann has announced a new album, Queens of the summer hotel, to be released in November and inspired by Girl interrupted. The first single is “Suicide is Murder”.

VINCE STAPLES – “GOT ‘EM”
