Altern Rock Wed, 15 Sep 2021 22:17:13 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Altern Rock 32 32 Osage Nation denounces the sale of a cave containing indigenous art Wed, 15 Sep 2021 20:32:03 +0000

A historic Missouri cave containing Native American art from more than 1,000 years ago was auctioned off yesterday, September 15, for $ 2.2 million. The Osage Nation, which hoped to buy the sacred site to protect and preserve it, called the sale “really heartbreaking. “

Known as the Picture Cave, the two cave system is nestled in a 43-acre expanse of land in Warren County, Missouri, about 60 miles west of St. Louis. Scholars have called it “the most important rock art site in North America” because of a collection of 290 prehistoric glyphs on its walls. It is believed to be the largest concentration of Native American paintings ever discovered in the ancient cultural region once known as Mesoamerica. The cave was a sacred ritual and a burial place for the indigenous tribes, primarily the Osage Nation, who controlled the area before their lands were dispossessed. The cave system is also home to one of Indiana’s largest endangered gray bat populations.

The prehistoric cave, along with the 43 acres of lush pasture that surrounds it, was auctioned off by the St. Louis-based company Selkirk Auctioneers and Appraisers on behalf of a three-generation family whose members initially purchased the privately owned property in 1953 and used it primarily for hunting.

In an email to Hyperallergic, Selkirk manager Bryan Laughlin said the previous owners were “the driving force behind [the cave’s] protection, preservation and understanding.

The new owner, whose name has not been released, is a “cave ecologist who wishes to remain private,” Laughlin said.

The sale has sparked outcry from Indigenous groups and academics who believe a sacred archaeological site of this magnitude should not be sold to the highest bidder.

“Our ancestors lived in this region for 1,300 years,” said one declaration by the Osage Nation read. “It was our land. We have hundreds of thousands of our ancestors buried in Missouri and Illinois, including Picture Cave. “

Picture Cave is nestled in a 43-acre expanse of land in Warren County, Missouri

Carol Diaz-Granados and James Duncan, two of the authors of the book Picture Cave: Unravel the mysteries of the Mississippian cosmos, were among the main opponents of the sale.

“American Indian sacred site auction really sends the wrong message,” said Diaz-Granados multiple media. “It’s like auctioning off the Sistine Chapel.”

In response, Laughlin told Hyperallergic that potential bidders have been screened for protection. ancient works of art.

AAll signs indicate that the cave will be preserved for years to come, ”he said. “Selkirk does not want the property to be altered or disturbed in any way. We defend the continuation of research and the protection not only of this historic archaeological site, but of all of history. “

When asked if he sympathizes with the disappointment and pain of Osage Nation, Laughlin replied, “Criticism is necessary and helps ensure accountability. There are many different feelings expressed regarding the sale of the property and all of them should be respected; we do not wish any member of any community to feel pain.

The cave features elaborate designs of human figures, animals, birds and mythical creatures. According to Diaz-Granados, an associate researcher in the anthropology department at Washington University in St. Louis, charred botanical material was used to make many drawings. Others were engraved on the sandstone. Analytical chemists at Texas A&M University, who had analyzed pigment samples from the cave, determined that the drawings were at least 1,000 years old.

One of the old drawings from Picture Cave from Missouri

Diaz-Granados also noted that the level of detail of the Missouri Cave sets it apart from other ancient rock art sites.

“You get stick figures at other rock art sites, or maybe a small feather on the top of the head, or a figure holding a weapon,” the researcher said. “But in Picture Cave, you get real details about the clothes, the details of the headdress, the feathers, the weapons. It’s really unbelievable.

The walls of the cave also bear witness to the colonization of indigenous lands. According to Laughlin, European “explorers” who visited the area in the 1700s scribbled the names of the ship’s captain and members of his crew on the walls.

Feeling helpless in the face of the powers of the market, Diaz-Granados said she clung to the hope that the new owner will donate the property to the Osage Nation.

“It’s their cave,” she said. “This is their sacred sanctuary, and it should be theirs.”

Inspired by the recycling of materials from her ancestors, Jan Wade creates altarpieces, shrines and jugs of memories from found objects.

This retrospective of the work of a São Paulo photo club reminds us that modernism was not only a European phenomenon.

Todd Stephens’ new film is a celebration of the willful and collective flamboyance that flourishes in small towns.

Brighton’s Leandro Trossard hits late to miss opportunities at Brentford Street | premier league Sat, 11 Sep 2021 17:57:00 +0000

Somewhere among the fans outside was Tony Bloom, the owner of Brighton. He had given up the opportunity to sit in the director’s dressing room and meet Matthew Benham, a former sports playing colleague with whom he no longer wishes to associate.

Inexpensive seats turned out to be a happy choice. There was heckling in the top corner of the stadium after Leandro Trossard scored a game-winning goal in the 90th minute to snatch a rather lucky but undoubtedly enjoyable victory.

With an Arsenal defeat on the opening night to be remembered and a pre-match Hey Jude chorus pumped up with optimism, Brentford had enjoyed the Premier League run but here’s the reality. The Belgian winner, whipped from the edge of the penalty area beyond David Raya’s dive after an assist from Alexis Mac Allister, suggests a tough season awaits him.

“The game was in our favor with the genius of Leandro,” said Graham Potter, celebrating a third win in four league games and climbing to third place in the standings. Last season, it wasn’t until January that Brighton won three. “You have to stay in the game and suffer sometimes. “

Brentford could have been out of sight at halftime with Bryan Mbuemo missing three chances as Brighton faltered in the face of the energy of the newcomers. Ivan Toney’s tricks and films brightened up an afternoon that will not be long remembered, although it may haunt Mbuemo.

His missed opportunities extended to four full-time. Thomas Frank favored a player who was clearly good at finding space but less adept at using it. “Ivan and Bryan looked really good together,” said the Brentford manager. “Bryan’s first Premier League goal is surely just around the corner. We create chances and opportunities. I just want to create more.

Brighton, in the Premier League for a fifth season, is a role model Benham would no doubt like to surpass. It was a close encounter, but there are still important bridges for Brentford, as Frank suggested.

“Look at their players,” he said. “I don’t know how much Trossard, [Adam] Lallana and [Danny] Welbeck is sure of ours.

Brighton head Neal Maupay, though not overly convincing, was once Brentford’s main man until Bloom paid him £ 20million two summers ago. In Toney, Frank and Benham may have the pleasure of an even greater talent though Frank could have possibly been content with the chances he had rather than Mbuemo.

At first, Toney tried to catch Robert Sánchez with a Frank chip from David Beckham’s August 1996 goal against Wimbledon. “He was about to score the goal of the season.

But it was as close as Toney came. Instead, Brentford fans howled in frustration as Mbuemo struggled, while Brighton struggled to create plenty of chances beyond Welbeck by hitting the ball straight at Sánchez in the first half.

Frank had enjoyed the luxury of being able to start the same 10 players in Brentford’s first four games. It is surely unsustainable for much longer; fatigue played an important role in the entry of Brighton.

The last 15 minutes saw them grow, although little was created until Trossard’s class revealed itself.

The Fiver: Sign up and receive our daily football email.

“We’re only giving four shots, it’s a top level defensive performance,” Frank said.

Brighton’s victory highlighted the hardships that await him, Benham and Brentford.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez return to the red carpet in Venice Sat, 11 Sep 2021 16:05:44 +0000

It’s one thing to make birthday videos on a yacht and not follow your ex-fiancé on Instagram anymore. It’s another to appear on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival for the movie premiere of Your (Old) New Handsome.

Yet this is exactly what Jennifer lopez done friday night, squeezing Ben affleckhand, while wearing it, as reported by the Associated press, huge Cartier diamonds and a white dress designed by Georges hobeika. Affleck was enhanced with a tuxedo from Dolce & Gabbana. (You can and should scroll through a dazzling gallery here.)

The extremely public resurgence of Affleck and Lopez’s warping speed has grown from low-key visits in late April following their respective breakups. Ana de Armas and Alex rodriguez, to sources saying they were ready to spend the “rest of their lives together,” then Ben checking out the rings at Tiffany and Co. (Here’s a timeline of it all, if you need a refresher.) nothing else, it makes for great gala premiere looks.

Earlier, the red carpet at this year’s Venice Film Festival was the venue for what might just be the best short film of the year, a still untitled work of art in which Oscar isaac kisses Jessica chastainthe arm of. Between that and the return of Bennifer 2.0, it’s clear which venue now holds the title on the world stage.

The last duel, which Affleck co-wrote with Nicole holofcener and his old boyfriend Matt damon, was directed by Ridley scott, and co-stars Affleck, Damon, Adam Pilot, and Jodie comer. It is based on a truthful account from 14th-century France, in which two friends fight to the death over a rape charge.

Reviews initially were mixed, with Indiewire calling it “a clever and really daring big-budget scrum”, but with The Guardian waving it like “Medieval #MeToo”. International Screen and Variety fell somewhere in between, with the latter calling the 152-minute film an “intriguing but overcooked medieval soap opera.”

The film will be released in US theaters on October 15.

Kylie Jenner’s Baby # 2 Gender: What is the gender of her second child? Wed, 08 Sep 2021 19:10:00 +0000

Ever since she confirmed she was pregnant, fans have been dying to know the gender of Kylie Jenner’s baby. Many have taken it upon themselves to seek the keeping up with the Kardashians the star’s social media pages for potential clues – and it looks like they actually found some.

Kylie, 24, confirmed she was expecting her second child with rapper Travis Scott, 30, on Tuesday, September 7. home video on her Instagram late Tuesday night. The video featured moments from the first weeks of her second pregnancy, including clips featuring the positive result of her pregnancy test, her first ultrasound visit and the day she broke the good news to her mother, Kris Jenner. In the clip, Stormi, Kylie’s 3-year-old daughter, whom she shares with Travis, surprised mum Kris, 65, with an envelope containing her ultrasound images from her ultrasound appointment. “Stormi, we’re having a baby! It’s one of the happiest days of my life, ”Kris said with tears in her eyes.

After watching the candid clip, some eagle-eyed fans noticed details that may hint at Kylie’s due date – and it has to do with Kris’ pajamas, of all things! “Kris wears them when Kylie tells her she’s pregnant, and I guess it was around week 6 of Kylie’s pregnancy,” a Reddit user wrote after uploading the clip, according to Us weekly. Kim posted the photo linked above in her story for Mother’s Day on May 9th, it was a video of Kris opening the presents so she was wearing those pajamas that day, it would also make sense for Kylie to tell Kris on Mother’s Day as her gift! “

The social media user continued, “If it was ~ week 6, Kylie’s first day of pregnancy would have been March 28. That puts her at around 23 weeks, so she has to give birth in January!” Now he’s an expert-level sleuth.

Of course, there is more. Fans have already come up with a theory as to whether Kylie is expecting a boy or a girl. Just weeks before Kylie confirmed she was pregnant with her second child, the beauty mogul took to Instagram to share a photo of her daughter Stormi. She captioned the post office “Favorite girl. 💙” Understandably, the blue heart emoji has led many fans to believe that Kylie is expecting a baby boy, and many have taken the comments to weigh them down.

“While waiting for the ‘blue for boy? And “is that your favorite girl because you have a boy?” Commented a user of social networks. Another wrote: “So you say ‘it’s a boy” “, while a third added:” So it’s a boy then “. To make matters more convincing, the official Kylie Cosmetics Instagram page also commented on the post. Can you guess what color they decided to use the emojis in? Blue, of course! The beauty page dropped two blue heart emojis, along with a single glittering emoji. For many fans, that’s all the confirmation they needed, but we’ll obviously have to wait and see if Kylie confirms otherwise.

Brighton and Hove News »’Hastings Rocks’ – A day of celebration of all things (that rock) in Hastings Wed, 08 Sep 2021 18:47:57 +0000

Are you in the ‘Hastings Rocks’ crowd at The Oval, Hastings 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on photo to enlarge!)

Hastings Rocks was a one-day festival, set up to showcase the richness of the region’s diverse musical talents. Managed by the people behind the annual Fat Tuesday event, in conjunction with Hastings Pride, it also made a point of using a local stage crew and sound and light technicians, as well as DJs. , photographers and filmmakers. Catering is also provided by selected local outlets and suppliers in recognition of the difficult times felt across the hospitality industry during the recent pandemic.

“Okay, let’s go Hastings Rocking” ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo for a larger view!)

This must be the first time I spend time at home during the August bank holiday weekend and why not? Because the offering is one of the best music days and it’s literally on my doorstep – well, a four minute walk anyway.

And after the forced break on Fat Tuesday, it looks like a phoenix rising from the embers… an opportunity for the city to celebrate Hastings’ best musical talent. We truly have one of the richest offerings on the market.

Festival crowd under the marquee at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

Located in The Oval with panoramic views over the English Channel, this is the perfect setting for a fun day out.

The Oval, for those who don’t know, is an open space up the hill in the city center. The site includes a main outdoor stage and a second tent stage run by the local venue, The Piper. The infrastructure was set up for a free event (Hastings Pride) at the same venue the next day – and organizers wanted to make sure it didn’t go to waste.

With cameras to install, I asked my friend Richie Nice to do one of his insightful pieces on the opening acts before he had to move it on to another gig… leaving me briefly to jot down some notes on the bands. following …

Richie writes:

I have to be somewhere else later, but I couldn’t help but spend the afternoon once I saw the scene times… because the local hot / heads hot / shots Kapichi Child, who you’d normally expect to be one of the headliners, has a spot for The Specials at Margate later tonight, so was playing at the very early hour of 1:45 p.m. ET. They were followed by another excellent young group, Blabbermouth, and the closeness of the two sets is too good to miss.

‘Hastings Rocks’ is in full swing on 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

The first impression upon arriving at the site is that it is well run. There is a lot of staff and security, and everyone seems friendly and courteous. Inside there is a good selection of food vendors, and it’s quick and easy to buy a drink. The main stage looks impressive and imposing, and a large sound system moves a lot of air.

On stage when I arrived was Hayley Sauvage, completing his set in his usual low-key way … but on the other hand, the next step was Sister Suzie and his band, pumping good rhythm and blues boogie.

Sister Suzie live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

I can spot Suzie’s bright orange jumpsuit across the field, and her performance is just as eye-catching. It’s a lot of fun, and early afternoon revelers enjoy a dance in the hot sun. The group is tight and smooth, all seasoned artists of course. I recognize the familiar gurgling dance of local bass legend Andy Ingram, pumping over a red four-string Gibson SG. Matt Jackson wears a brown zoot suit and provides a lot of the twang of a semi-acoustic Gibson, and there’s Al Nicholls on tenor saxophone. The set is a mixture of covers and originals and goes very nicely.

The change gives time to have another beer and chat with a few friends, then it’s time to Kapichi Childis set. They brought their own backline with beautifully painted flight cases with the band’s logo. If you haven’t met them, the band has been one of the hottest bands in Hastings for many years. Their high-energy alternative rock, combining a glam-tinged guitar with a punk attitude, won them a loyal following nationwide and their stunning debut album. ‘This time next year’ has cemented their reputation far beyond the south coast.

Kid Kapichi performing live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

The whole does not start off on the right foot. During the opening number “City of workers”, lead singer Jack Wilson does not hear his guitar at all, and the offending instrument is thrown onto stage in a moment of spectacular frustration. If it didn’t work before, it sure won’t work now. Sound issues resolved, the band set off with an assault set, guitarist Ben Beetham and bassist Eddie Lewis leaping around the stage like sparkling firecrackers as Jack growls into the mic. Everything is supported by the thunderous rhythms of George Macdonald behind the kit. Every song is a singing classic, although “Self saboteur” and ‘Sequins’ particularly stands out for me. It’s all over far too soon, and the group will no doubt be straight into the van and headed for Margate.

Blabbermouth performing live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

Fellow Hastings four-piece Blabbermouth follow a largely similar path, combining guitar-based indie rock with a bit of a youthful punk attitude. This is their first gig on a festival stage, and they had a forced line-up change today, with regular bassist Alfie Rolph having to go into isolation. A dep called Liam, sporting a gloriously retro look reminiscent of Phineas from “The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers,” bravely stepped in and learned the songs at short notice. You wouldn’t know, as the band have a tight, punchy sound, and have a quite dominant presence that belies their relative inexperience.

Blabbermouth performing live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

Singer and guitarist Max Williams exudes star quality and throws himself onto the stage with reckless abandon. Lead guitarist Leon Knowles looks ominously wearing a school uniform, but battles the jaw-dropping riffs of a white Stratocaster with a confident air and consummate ease. Harry Giles sends quick fills around the kit with power and precision. It’s a performance that deserves to be higher in the bill, although I’m personally glad they played early and was able to catch their set. The most significant number for me was the recent single, ‘Razor Switchblade Smile’.

Helen Sharpe performing live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click to view larger photo!)

Come back to me (Sara):

So from now on, even though I was focusing on getting tons of photos to document the event, it was up to me to try and say a few things about the rest of the show… so in no particular order and with brevity. in mind here we are!

The Savage 2nd Line live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

First off, hats off to The 2nd wild line group that brought a touch of traditional Mardi Gras to the debates. Basically no musical event in Hastings is complete without the presence of Dr. Savage… and Ryan is always at his best when he has the guys from Second Line behind him.

Hotwax live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

Hot wax were next and stood out as a highlight for me. They really felt like they were blossoming – every time I saw them they grew in confidence and strength, and that was no exception. They’ll be playing at the Green Door Store soon, so check them out in Brighton… as well as the De La Warr show where they support legendary Adrian Sherwood and Rhoda Dakar – alongside Ruts DC.

Message From The Ravens live at ‘Hastings Rocks’ 28.8.21 (photo Sara-Louise Bowrey Photography) (click on the photo to enlarge!)

Then there was applause for Message from the crows (an absolute highlight for me) who offered nourishment for the soul with their heartbreakingly beautiful harmonies. They sing songs from those lost stories that the Ravens have heard whispered over time. Their music is based on pure emotion and leaves you both satisfied and wanting more. As you float, you are drawn into their ethereal yet familiar world at the same time. A space that envelops you with a totally modern touch and a love of life.

This has merged into an unusual set of Rufus Stone (with guest voices from Helene sharpe) which totally showed how fortunate our city is to have such talented musicians among us.

Rufus was followed by the somewhat softer sounds of the Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou whose beautiful harmonies floated on the gentle breeze and provided a deliciously cool interlude before energy levels were spiked again as the festival moved into its closing hours.

Then the scene gave way to the title act, and Lister skinny engaged the crowd as only they know how to do. Great songs and great energy – and predictably addictively… anyone who didn’t know them at this point came away loving them.

All I can say is roll on Fat Tuesday and here is Hastings Rocks 2.0 in 2022.

The three-time singer engaged in hope because hope leads to action Wed, 08 Sep 2021 17:10:40 +0000

Hard-hitting art – music included – has the power to change hearts and minds. And that’s what the singer and guitarist of Thrice Dustin Kensrue is counting on.

“Music is an emotional way to get around people’s defenses,” says Dustin Kensrue with the same meditative tone he sings with on Thrice’s eleventh record, Horizons / East.

This is one of the critical and unique functions of art; the one who freed spirits and brought down tyrants through distance and time. This is why despotic regimes such as Nazi Germany’s Third Reich banned what they saw as “degenerate art.”

Kensrue began to change his mind when he began to question his Christian faith. After a long, unsettling but instructive journey, the desire to share what he finally understood served as the driving force behind the band’s latest album.

“I think that, in general, the idea of the record is [to be] hopeful in the sense that we can see how we are in these closed thought systems, and at least yearn for a way out. I think desire can lead to a way of being less sure about things, but more open to the reality in front of you. Accepting uncertainty is very scary as human beings, but when you can get to this place it’s not as scary as you thought it was. It’s actually quite invigorating. “

The first song on the disc, “The Color of the Sky”, portrays a protagonist trapped behind a literal wall (“He circumscribed the city / They said beyond that nothing lived at all“) and his resolve to” find a passage “and see for himself what lies beyond. It is a physical representation of the concept of transition from an enclosed space to a more open space; visibility to clear visibility.

Lyrics of “The Color of the Sky”

My first and first memory
look in wonder at the wall
He circumscribed the city
They said that beyond that, nothing lived at all
But I came to wonder if all the stories were true
So one night I made my decision
I resolved that I would find a passage through

“I took this trip myself in a way,” Kensrue says, “and it’s liberating and beautiful. I wanna at least leave a card [for others] and say, ‘Hey, there’s something here.’ To be everywhere … was the start of a lot of changes, ”he says of the group’s 2016 record.“ This one is more zoomed in and reflective, as well as looking to the future. I hate to say it because it looks like I’ve arrived, but I’m on a trip that I wasn’t before.

But opening minds is much easier said than done, and it couldn’t be more evident after several years of living in America, as partisanship and tribalism have become the most severe and corrosive since the days of the civil war.

“The last few years have been an extreme example of how easy it is to polarize and hang out on your own,” Kensrue says. “I’m definitely more on the liberal side, but I want to be just as critical. The more we can let go of that kind of thinking and keep everyone up to the same standards, the better. Try not to find yourself so firmly entrenched in some sort of partisan situation. Have your convictions, but [know that] your group is not always right just because you often agree with them. This goes for any situation, not just politics. “

“I think a lot of what’s going on right now is we see, especially in America, the individual has become everything. There are some amazing things that come with the liberation and freedom of individuals … but we also have a lot left, in terms of functioning as a group and taking charge of the group.

One need only look at the delta variant disaster of COVID-19 to see how the selfishness of the individual has overpowered their ability to take responsibility for the safety of others. The debates on masks are over in literal fights at local school board meetings across the country, putting the “freedom of choice” not to put one’s mouth above the lives of neighbors. There is now a false choice between the individual and the community, when in reality the two can coexist.

“I hope there is a way to synthesize these two things. I don’t think we’re there yet, but I think it’s the way to go. How can we maximize human freedom but also realize that you live in a society where everyone is [can be] supported? For me, my life is impoverished living in a society where people are literally impoverished. I truly believe that we are all connected.

To illustrate this point, Thrice made a conscious effort to weave the concept of interdependence into the lyrical composition of Horizons / East. The last track, “Unitive / East”, asks the question “Is there a me without you? and ends with imagery of “new grass under dark skies”, bringing the listener back to the story that begins the album. The idea of the one and the many is reflected in the musical structure of the song, starting with a lonely beat and building up to 11, before settling down.

“I have no hope in the optimistic sense of the word,” says the songwriter. “But I’m determined to hope, because hope leads to action, and over time you can make a real difference. Even though it sometimes feels like things are stopping or even going backwards, there are movements throughout history that are encouraging. “

The record is imbued with Kensrue’s belief that opportunities and possibilities can arise from even the worst of situations. Sometimes we have to listen to our own human nature, but other times we have to move beyond it to get to a better place. While we can’t seem to argue or try to convince the other side that we’re right, Kensrue is hopeful that the emotion and beauty of music can persuade people to look beyond what they have. always assumed to be true. Once you can open your heart, then the spirit will follow.

Thanks to Dustin Kensrue from Thrice for the interview. The band have just released the new song “Summer Set Fire to the Rain” which can be heard below. ThriceThe album ‘Horizons / East’ arrives September 17th via Epitaph Records. It is available for pre-order here and to distribute via these platforms. Is It Ever OK to Take Out a Payday Loan? Mon, 06 Sep 2021 02:56:49 +0000 Payday loans can come with very high interest rates. However, it is possible to borrow a payday loan. Find out the answer.

Payday loans allow you to borrow short-term money at high interest rates. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau warns payday loans have an average APR of 400%. People don’t often realize the true cost of payday loans.

A high rate of interest on a loan can make it difficult to repay the debt or keep it out of bankruptcy. You might find it difficult to raise funds if you borrow $100, pay $30 and then pay $130 each payday. In default of the payment, you may run out before you get your next paycheck.

Many people find they need to take out a second payday loan to repay their original loan. This is because payday loans have short repayment terms and high costs. This could continue for many more years until you have to be in constant need of at least 1 payday lender.

This is why payday loans can be extremely detrimental to your financial health. Payday loans could have financial consequences that last several months. If the borrowing continues, you may even end up bankrupt.

You might be asking if payday loan are permitted in certain circumstances. You can try paydaynow for free and check their offers. This guide can help you make a decision.

You should explore all possible options before taking out a loan.

Before you apply for a loan, make sure to consider all your options. Other borrowings are usually less expensive than loans. Here are some other forms of financing that you should be aware.

  • Other options for payday loans: These are short-term loans credit union members can access for cash emergencies. The fees are fixed, and you have a limit on the number of payday alternative loans that can be taken out each year. These loans can be more affordable than payday loans, and they are better suited for short term needs.
  • Credit cards: A credit card is a better option than a payday advance to pay for your essential purchases. A credit card can be used to pay for essential purchases even if you need cash. Cash advances are subject to higher fees and have a higher interest rate that normal purchases. Credit card interest can be very expensive but the interest rates that you pay for a card is lower than what you would pay for most payday loans.
  • Personal: Personal loans may have lower interest rates than payday loans and credit card loans. Personal loans may have a simpler repayment schedule and lower interest rates. A personal loan that is paid in monthly, predictable installments is more preferable to payday loans. It’s also better than paying high interest rates for credit cards you might not be able to pay off in the future.

Before you get a payday loan, you should borrow from friends and family, sell unnecessary items, start a side company, and explore all funding options. Talk to your healthcare provider about whether you qualify for a payment plan if you feel that you may require a payday advance to cover an unexpected medical expense, such as paying for the child’s doctor bill.

What happens if all other options are exhausted

If you have no other options, a payday loans is the best and only choice. It is important to be open-minded and fully aware of the financial consequences of this transaction.

Payday loans shouldn’t be used for anything that isn’t urgent. Payday loans are a great option for those who need them to cover urgent expenses such as car repairs or to replace their job. While it may make your financial life more difficult temporarily, it won’t have the same catastrophic consequences as losing your job.

But, it is important to evaluate whether a short-term loan is going provide a permanent solution or just delay more serious problems. If you’re about to lose your home, you should consider whether a loan from a payday lender will allow you to keep it. Even though your payday loan may cover your rent for a month, it will not cover the rent next months. It could result in you losing your house and getting further into debt. It’s not worth taking out a payday loan if you don’t have somewhere else to live.

Payday loans are a bad way to borrow.

Summary: A payday loan can only be an option if there are no other options. This is not a way of avoiding the inevitable. You should avoid all other situations. You have two choices: either you can get financing at a lower rate or you can stop borrowing. This could make your finances worse.
